Prakasam Tata, Ph.D., QEP

Tata Associates International
Dr. Prakasam and 55 years of experience in wastewater management, 30 years of it with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. He retires as Assistant Director of the Research & Development about 5 years back, but continues to be active in the Water & Environmental Journal, the prestigious publication of the Water & Environmental Federation.
Dr. Prakasam obtained his Ph. D. from Rutgers University and worked at Cornell University before joing the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD). He has done extensive work on wastewater treatment technologies at MWRD and also on the land application of biosolids from wastewater treatment. He has published books on wastewater treatment and authored numerous papers presented at national and inernational sumposia.
He has worked as a consultant to the US Agency for International Development (USAID) for wastewater treatment projects in Egypt and other countries. He is very active in community affairs and is currently Vice President of the India Development Coalition of America in OakBrook, Illinois.
